The PositiveID Corporation (“the Company”) announced that it has completed the development of its temperature-sensing microchip in conjunction with development partner RFID Solutions of Malaga, Spain.
The microchip, which uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, is able to measure internal temperature within the body and communicate that temperature wirelessly to an external reader. The Company plans to integrate the temperature-sensing microchip with its Wireless Body™ platform.
As previously announced in November 2010, PositiveID teamed up with RFID Solutions, an advanced technical development group with innovative automated manufacturing and expertise in specialized requirements for sensors in RFID markets, to develop the temperature-sensing microchip for use in humans.
The Company expects its Wireless Body platform will continue to evolve with the addition of other bio-sensing capabilities including glucose-sensing through its GlucoChip™, which is currently under development. The Wireless Body by being able to continuously monitor temperature could provide an early warning to a caregiver at the onset of an illness.
States Revise Rules on Driver’s Licenses for
Illegal Immigrants as National ID Approaches
States must be in compliance by May with the regulations laid out in the 2005 REAL ID Act. The law, a recommendation of the Sept. 11 commission that investigated the 2001 terror attacks, creates a national security standard for state-issued identification cards to be used for purposes like boarding airplanes and entering federal buildings.
Originally intended as a counter terrorism tool, REAL ID has had an unintended side effect that has won support of immigration enforcement advocates — it requires driver’s licenses issued to immigrants to expire at the same time as their stay in the U.S., invalidating the licenses of immigrants who overstay their visas.
It apparently would be similar to the program that has become commonplace in the European Union to allow free transit for EU citizens to move, live and work wherever they choose within the EU, disregarding nation-of-origin and national border restrictions. On Jan. 19, 2011, Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon signed an executive order requiring within the next five years all Mexicans 17 years old and younger have a biometric national identity card that would include a facial photograph, all 10 fingerprints, and an iris scan.
Nigerians’ embrace of a single debit card to carry out transactions both locally and outside the country would go a long way in transforming Nigeria into a cashless economy. This is in line with the quest by the Central Bank of Nigeria to reduce the quantity of cash in circulation by 2020.
Bill Wants U.S. to Withdraw from UN
Republican Senator Dave Lewis from Montana ask Congress to withdraw the United States from being a part of the United Nations in the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senator Dave Lewis says the United States wastes billions of dollars to be a part of the United Nations and the bill’s language calls for this dissolution so that the United States “may maintain control over its own Military Forces, Finances, and Destiny.” Those who support the bill feel that the UN threatens America’s sovereignty and promotes gun control.
I personally support Senator Lewis and all who will defend our Sovereignty and Civil Liberties. Will it happen? Currently, 190 nations are a part of the UN and to the bill sponsor’s knowledge; no one has ever withdrawn their membership.

The picture may be posed. Obama probably made a point of being seen with the book in hand. Obama dresses very well and has excellent publicity advisors. It doesn’t seem by chance that Obama let himself be photographed with this book in hand. Is there a picture anywhere of Obama holding the Bible?
Obama is indeed carrying a copy of Fareed Zakaria’s The Post-American World, published in May 2008 by W.W. Norton. Zakaria was born in India in 1964 and is a world-renowned expert on international relations. And he was born a Muslim, though he describes himself as “not a religious guy.”
With 5 per cent of the world’s population, the United States has generated between 20 to 30 per cent of world output for the last 125 years but the thesis of his book “The Post-American World” is that the power and influence of non-western countries are rising and will continue to rise on into the 21st century an that we are moving into a post-American world, one defined and directed from many places and by many people.”
On Zakaria’s website he says “We are in the midst of a revolution in the Middle East”, one that has unleashed long-suppressed forces that will continue to send shock waves across an arc of countries from Morocco to Iran. We are all looking at each crisis individually as it breaks out. But if we step back we can see that this is really a seismic shift and that it will in time reverberate throughout the region”.
Mr. Zakaria argues that we are now in the midst of the third great tectonic power shift to occur over the last 500 years: the first was the rise of the West, which produced “modernity as we know it: science and technology, commerce and capitalism, the agricultural and industrial revolutions”; the second was the rise of the United States in the 20th century; and the third is what he calls “the rise of the rest,” with China and India “becoming bigger players in their neighborhoods and beyond,” Russia becoming more aggressive, and Europe acting with “immense strength and purpose” on matters of trade and economics.
